Lecture Karaoke

Plays a lecture video or audio recording with live karaoke subtitles from its transcript. Lectures come from this device or your Dropbox; transcripts come from your private GitHub repository, where new ones get transcribed.

Settings

Subtitle timing

The Exact button switches between exact timing and this offset:

Sync fine-tune: 0 ms

Moves every subtitle earlier (−) or later (+), if they look early or late on this device.

Layout

Portrait and landscape are set separately. You can also drag the handle between the video and the subtitles.

Highlight

The color of the words already spoken. Kept on this device.

The Soft button in the bar switches between the two (key H).

Control bar

Move buttons between the two rows, reorder them or hide them. Kept on this device.

Language

Used to choose natural places to split long sentences. A lecture in a Dropbox folder whose name ends in ___vn starts in Tiếng Việt.

Word fixes

    Saves a corrected .json (open it here next time) and a transcript.txt for the vertical_video_maker pipeline.

    Delete from Dropbox?

    Dropbox keeps deleted files for at least 30 days: you can restore them from Deleted files on dropbox.com. Their transcripts stay on GitHub, so a file put back finds its transcript again.

    The app finds each video's transcript in your private repository, and keeps word fixes there so all your devices share them.

    A fine-grained GitHub token for this repository only, with Contents: read and write (and Actions: read and write, to start transcriptions). It stays on this device.

    Leave empty to remove the word.

    A folder per course keeps the library tidy. Keep this page open while it uploads; if it stops, it continues from where it was.
